Course Content
- First Aid: Elements of paediatric first aid will be included.
- Understanding: Understand the responsibilities and role of a First Aider in maintaining a safe workplace.
- Preventing cross infection: Learn how to minimise the risk of cross-infection.
- Recording incidents and actions: Understand the importance of accurate documentation.
- Equipment: Become familiar with first aid equipment and its proper use in emergency situations.
- Assess: Develop the ability to assess emergencies effectively and act safely and promptly.
- Unconscious: Provide aid to an unconscious casualty, including handling seizures.
- Administer CPR: Practise CPR techniques to provide life-saving support in critical situations.
- Choking: Learn how to respond efficiently to choking emergencies.
- Shock: Provide effective care for shock-related incidents including anaphylaxis.
- Minor injuries: Manage common workplace injuries such as cuts, grazes, bruises, burns and splinters.
- Automated External Defibrillation: Become familiar with AED use.
