Certification

For completing this course, candidates will receive a certificate to become an Emergency First Aider.

Course Content

  • First Aid: Elements of paediatric first aid will be included.
  • Understanding: Grasp the responsibilities and role of a first aider in maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Preventing cross infection: Learn how to minimise the risk of cross-infection.
  • Recording incidents and actions: Understand the importance of accurate documentation.
  • Equipment: Become familiar with first aid equipment and its proper use in emergency situations.
  • Assess: Develop the ability to assess emergencies effectively and act safely and promptly.
  • Unconscious: Provide aid to an unconscious casualty, including handling seizures.
  • Administer CPR: Master CPR techniques to provide life-saving support in critical situations.
  • Choking: Learn how to respond efficiently to choking emergencies.
  • Shock: Provide effective care for shock-related incidents including anaphylaxis.
  • Minor injuries: Manage common workplace injuries such as cuts, grazes, bruises, burns and splinters.
  • Automated External Defibrillation: Become familiar with AED use.

This two-day refresher course is designed to update delegates on their previous first aid training, reinforcing their knowledge and skills. Participants build on their existing experience, enhancing confidence and competence in managing workplace first aid situations. Through practical exercises and discussions, attendees refresh essential first aid techniques while gaining the latest insights into maintaining a safe and compliant workplace environment.
