Overview
Course Introduction
In the UK, the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) state that operators of fork lift trucks must be adequately trained in their operation.
Who Should Attend Fork Lift Training Training?
All identified personnel who are required to use or responsible for work carried out involving the use of forklift trucks.

- Be aware of the maintenance and pre-operation checks of fork trucks
- Achieve necessary driver standards in either Counter Balance and/or Reach Trucks

Course Contents
- Health & Safety at Work Act applicable to Fork Trucks
- Engineering principles of Fork Trucks
- Daily checks and record keeping, battery care and maintenance
- Rating plates and weight assessment
- The hydraulic system
- Vehicle loading and unloading
- Fork truck hazards and operator's safety code
- Practical driving and manoeuvring
- Starting and de-starting
- Written and practical assessment and test
Duration: 5 days (3 days if the delegate has prior experience but no recognised license)
