Overview

Course Description:
This one-day instructor-led course provides messaging specialists with the knowledge and skills specialists need to recover Exchange mailboxes and servers in a variety of disaster scenarios. Delegates will learn how to perform full and dial-tone recoveries of a mailbox server, as well as repair a mailbox database. They will also learn how to perform a full recovery of Client Access servers, Hub Transport servers, and Edge Transport servers. This course helps you prepare for the following Microsoft Certified Professional exams 070-236: Implementing, Troubleshooting and Maintaining a MS Exchange Server 2007 Infrastructure.

Course Objectives:
This course is intended for enterprise-level messaging administrators who have at least 3 years experience working in the Information Technology field, including administering Exchange Servers. Administrators should have some experience with Exchange Server 2007. Others who may take this course include IT generalists and help desk professionals who want to learn about Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.

Before attending this course, students must have:

  • NTBackup command / NSLookup command
  • Windows Explorer
  • Microsoft Management Console (MMC)
  • Active Directory Users and Computers
  • Active Directory Sites and Services
  • Internet Information Services (IIS) Admin
  • Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Windows server operating system
  • Working knowledge of network technologies
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory
  • Conceptual understanding of email technologies
  • Working knowledge of malware
  • Conceptual understanding of firewalls
  • Completion of the following equivalent knowledge: course 5047 - Introduction to Installing and Managing Microsoft Exchange Server 2007
