Course Description:
This three-day instructor-led course provides IT Professionals who work in enterprise organisations with the knowledge and skills to install, deploy, configure, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Vista. This advanced course is aimed at enterprise desktop support technicians who want to gain knowledge of Windows Vista.

The course helps towards preparation for Microsoft Vista Exams:

  • 70-620 Vista Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
  • 70-622 Vista Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Enterprise Support Technician (MCITP)
For existing Windows XP Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technicians (MCDST ) this course helps towards preparation for Vista Upgrade Exam 70-621 (Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Enterprise Support Technician), which also grants the MCTS Vista credential

Course Objectives:
Delegates should be experienced IT professionals who focus on a broad range of desktop operating system, application, networking, and hardware support issues. Delegates should be working in a support environment, using technical and problem solving expertise. Delegates will have used Windows XP SP2 and may have experience with Windows server operating systems.

Before attending this course, students must have:
  • Be familiar with PC hardware, the BIOS and Device Manager
  • Have fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP, Active Directory, user and group accounts and user profiles
  • Be able to map drives to network file shares, install applications and use the command prompt Have experience of supporting previous versions of the Windows operating system
  • Be familiar with an IT helpdesk system
